Meet 1 - CANCELED - Sat, Mar 14 - Ikes

The first ECTC Central Division Trap Meet is on Saturday, March 14, starting at 7:30 AM, at the Lincoln Izaak Walton League facility ("the Ikes" where we practice). Squad assignments are at the bottom of the page, formatted for easy display on a phone's screen.

Please read the following information carefully regarding the meet and the facility.

Parking. Car pool if you can. Shooting starts at 7:30 AM, so people will be getting there pretty early to claim parking spots.
Show up early if you want to make sure you have a place to park! Do not park on the road (134th Street) or on the land to the south of the Izaak Walton grounds! If you do, your car will likely be ticketed and possibly towed.

Trap Loading. Because the Ikes is our home range, LSE Trap will be responsible for keeping traps 5 and 6 loaded throughout the meet. The coaches cannot do this on their own. We will need other people (parents and students) to help with this throughout the day. Volunteers are appreciated!

Weather - Clothing and Gear. The forecast for Saturday includes cold and a possibility of rain and snow. If there's no lightning, we will shoot, even in the rain. Dress for the weather. Warm clothing, preferably in layers so you can adjust as the day warms up. Boots for mud and puddles. Rain suit or other foul weather gear (jacket and pants if you have them). A ball cap to help keep rain out of your face and off of your glasses. A small towel to take to the firing line with you (tucked into your vest or your shooting belt for easy access) to wipe your gun and your glasses between rounds. Parents, you can hold the towel for your shooters if you like, to keep the towel dry, and assist them (quickly) between rounds.

Team Tent. If the Ikes allows it, we will have a tailgating area, with the team tent or other setup. Our plan is to set this up toward the south end of the covered storage area on the west side of the small gravel lot near the rock house (across from Trap 5). Look for the team flag. We'll have breakfast and lunch, weather allowing.

Squads

16-yard squads for this meet are listed below. Please note the trap where you'll be shooting and the time when your squad is scheduled to shoot. As always, these times are approximate. Show up early! Allow time to park and get your gear in order. Please be at your assigned trap, ready to shoot, at least one hour before your squad's scheduled time and check the board at your trap (on the back of the scoring chair) to see when your squad is coming up. Some traps go through their scheduled squads faster than others. Your squad might go earlier than scheduled or might be moved to a different trap by the shoot director! Please be at your assigned traps and ready to shoot by the time your squad is on deck (i.e., next to shoot). Do not arrive to your assigned trap late or you will miss your chance to shoot; there are usually no "makeups" allowed.

Juniors (middle schoolers) will shoot two boxes of ammo at 16 yards, one after the other. Bring your second box of ammo to the line with you and leave it behind you on your starting post. Seniors (high schoolers) will shoot two boxes of ammo at 16 yards and then, later in the day, two more at handicap yardage. Bring your second box of ammo to the line with you and leave it behind you on your starting post. The squads below are 16-yard squads only. For seniors (high schoolers), handicap squads will be assigned at the meet, based on your 16-yard performance (your handicap yardage will be the average of your two 16-yard rounds, rounded up to the nearest whole number, with a lower limit of 18 yards).
