All Conference - Sat, Apr 27
IMPORTANT: To qualify for the All Conference Meet, you must compete in at least 5 of the 6 Divisional Meets, with your Hunter Education Certification completed and turned in at least a week before your first competition. This is a Conference rule. There are no exceptions!
Where. Juniors will shoot at the Izaak Walton league. Seniors will shoot at the Lincoln Trap & Skeet Club.
The All Conference Meet is an individual competition only! Juniors will shoot 50 targets from 16 yards. Seniors will shoot 50 targets from handicap yardage (there is no 16-yard event for seniors; it's handicap only). All eligible seniors are assigned a handicap yardage based on their five best 16-yard performances during regular divisional meets, and are assigned to a shooting class based on their handicap performance at their five best meets. These calculations essentially mean that you should be competing against individuals (from the entire ECTC) who have shown similar performance to your own throughout the season. That means that this meet will be an excellent chance for any of you to win an award!
We will not have your squad assignments until late Wednesday (before the meet) at the earliest. Additional information will be added to this page as it is received during the week before the meet. To best prepare for the meet, Seniors will practice at their handicap yardage the week before the All Conference Meet. To that end, each squad will shoot two rounds of handicap in a row (bring your 2nd box to the line with you, like at a meet), then vacate the trap for the next group. You may practice 16s if you like, but only after all handicap practice is finished.
As always, you must practice with others whose handicap yardage assignments are close to your own. ATA rules state: "In Handicap there shall be no more than two (2) yards difference between adjacent shooters in the squad, and no more than a total difference of three (3) yards in a squad." We still adhere to that last bit. For safety reasons, these rules must be observed and will be enforced by coaches during practice.
