Practice Meet - Sat, Mar 6 - Ikes
We're having a practice "mini meet" on Saturday, March 6, with some other teams who practice at the Ikes.
Arrival. Please arrive by 9:30 AM to give yourselves plenty of time to park, get your gear together, and get to where you need to be without rushing.
Shooting. We'll be starting on the traps where we practice. Seniors will start shooting the 16-yard event at 10:00 AM, with squads 6 and 7 up first (check the tables below for your squad assignments). Seniors will start with two rounds in a row (two boxes of ammo) from 16 yards. Juniors will start shooting a little later, also shooting two rounds in a row from 16 yards. Seniors will then start the handicap event, shooting two more rounds in a row (two more boxes of ammo) from their assigned handicap distance. Please read the General Meet Info page to learn more about how meets operate, how handicap yardage is calculated, and other useful information.
Food. We've decided to grill hotdogs and provide chips around noon. Feel free to partake in that or bring your own food, whatever you're more comfortable with. The hotdogs and chips will be handled with care and attention to anti-covid safety with plates being served instead of doing things buffet style (people won't be grabbing buns out of the bags themselves). There may or may not be water also, so please bring your own drinks, just to make sure you aren't thirsty!
Parking. Parking can be a challenge at the Ikes when there are a lot of people there. Please car pool if you can and arrive early enough to find a parking spot. Please do not park on the large grassy areas south of traps 6 and 7. This area is still very water logged and the folks who run the Ikes don't want that area to get torn up or vehicles to get stuck in the mud. You'll find parking farter back along the road, near the rifle ranges.
Mud! There's no shortage of mud and standing water at trap ranges this time of year. Proper footwear is a must. Cold wet feet won't do your scores any good.
Masks. In addition to wearing masks in the clubhouse, please wear masks outside when you're not shooting or scoring, and when you're not in a group of only family members. This will be a requirement at real meets, so we might as well get used to it now.
Clubhouse. Please limit your use of the clubhouse to the bathrooms. Remember that masks must be worn when inside the clubhouse.

Squads
Starting squads for the 16-yards events are listed below. Please note the trap where you'll be shooting and the time when your squad is scheduled to shoot. As always, these times are approximate. Show up early! Allow time to park and get your gear in order. Please be at your assigned trap, ready to shoot, well before your squad's scheduled time and check the whiteboard at your trap (back of the scoring chair) to see when your squad number is coming up. Some traps go through their scheduled squads faster than others. Your squad might go earlier than scheduled or might be moved to a different trap by the shoot director! Please be at your assigned traps and ready to shoot by the time your squad is "on deck" (next to shoot).
