MACTC Meet - Sat, Mar 16 - LT&S
We were invited to send squads to this Mid-America Clay Target Conference (MACTC) trap meet as an alternative to the ECTC Central Division meet that was scheduled for March 16 in Ashland, but was cancelled. This MACTC meet is primarily for fun and to get in some practice in an actual trap meet. Participants are eligible for awards, so it's a true competition, but the stats will not count toward ECTC stats or requirements. Just go have fun crushing some clays!
Bring Enough Ammo! Seniors will be shooting 75 16-yard targets and 75 handicap targets (not 50, like the ECTC meets). Juniors may also shoot 75 targets from 16 yards, but it may be reduced to 50; we won't know until the meet starts. Make sure to bring enough ammo!
Parking. Parking is always a challenge at Lincoln Trap & Skeet, so if you want to be sure to get a parking spot on the grounds, you should plan to be there well before the meet starts! Many people park at the businesses near the club, but we don't know if those businesses officially allow it or not. The only nearby business that we know has given permission for meet parking in the past is Walton Construction, which is on the other (east) side of 48th Street and three driveways farther north. In the past, the club has run a shuttle between that lot and the club. They may do so this year as well. Last year, we heard from one of the board members at Lincoln Trap & Skeet that the business south of the club does NOT want meet attendees parking in their lot. They apparently said that they would have cars towed if they park there. We have not confirmed that cars have been or will be towed, but it was highly suggested that people park to the North or East of the club.
Weather. It's expected to be sunny most of Saturday. The day will start out chilly (below freezing) but should warm up nicely throughout the day, getting to mid 30s by about 10:00 AM and hitting a high of about 49 around 3:00 PM. Dress accordingly. Layers would be good, so you can remove some layers as the day warms up.
Mud and Water. There's no shortage of mud and standing water at trap ranges this time of year. Proper footwear is a must. Cold wet feet won't do your scores any good.

Squads
Squads for this meet are listed below. Please note the trap where you'll be shooting and the time when your squad is scheduled to shoot. As always, these times are approximate. Show up early! Allow time to park and get your gear in order. Please be at your assigned trap, ready to shoot, at least one hour before your squad's scheduled time and check the board at your trap to see when your squad is coming up. Some traps go through their scheduled squads faster than others. Your squad might go earlier than scheduled or might be moved to a different trap by the shoot director! Please be at your assigned traps and ready to shoot by the time your squad is on deck (i.e., next to shoot). Do not arrive to your assigned trap late or you will miss your chance to shoot; there are usually no "makeups" allowed.
